ERP Analyst

The ERP Analyst will utilize Sage/Microsoft commercial off-the-shelf and customized technologies to solve challenging business problems and create comprehensive enterprise solutions that satisfy the business and compliance needs and requirements of the organization. The position will be responsible for creating custom SQL queries and programs, maintaining ETL processes, developing and deploying custom reports and data extracts, and creating and maintaining custom programs and solutions using other tools and languages such as Visual Basic for Applications, PowerShell and Crystal Reports. The position requires a strong accounting background and understanding of common business processes (e.g., PO, AP, AR, GL closing, etc.) and batch transactions. The position will create and maintain system and user documentation related to the work and development performed and provide training to end-users and the IT staff as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential duties listed below satisfactorily. The ERP Analyst should possess strong communication skills and be able to collaborate with a variety of departments and cross-functional teams within the organization. The candidate will be working primarily within SQL Server 2008 R2, MAS 500, ClockVIEW (time collection) and an internally developed work order system (WPMS). There are also several other commercial and internally developed enterprise tools to be maintained and enhanced. Duties and responsibilities include:
• Participates in projects to gather user requirements, design, configure, test, and implement ERP systems and applications.
• Develop custom applications and enhancements to existing systems.
• Develop and maintain SQL Server Objects (stored procedures, functions, tables, views, etc.).
• Design and maintain user interfaces and related scripts and programming.
• Support business production operations.
• Debug and troubleshoot production issues.
• Use solid software development life cycle & testing methodologies.
• Understand and utilize collaborative code sharing utilities.
• Deploy code to appropriate environments as identified by team leaders.
• Ensure system compliance with Company policies, procedures, and protocols for system standards, customizations, and changes.
• Maintain clear and detailed documentation on enhancements, customizations including workflows, scripts, and reports.
• Provide quality and timely communication and status regarding assigned tasks and activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and simplification.
• Actively identify gaps between current and desired end-states and deliver solutions that create efficiencies and add value.
• After-hours work may be required for upgrades, maintenance, and emergencies in support of a high availability ERP environment.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of MAS 500 functionality, customizations and integrations.
• Travel as needed (e.g., currently estimated to be about 1-2 times per month, for 1-2 days at a time).

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and minimum of five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of relational databases and experience using and programming ERP systems.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, TSQL and developing stored procedures and functions.
• Knowledge of accounting, batch transactions and general ledger concepts. Knowledge of accounting period closing and reconciliation processes.
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications, Crystal Reports and ASP.NET.
• Experience with generating reports, custom reporting, and functional experience within Sage MAS 500 is plus.
• Ability to produce readable and maintainable code with internal and external documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to independently research and develop solutions for new or unfamiliar technologies.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to provide input as well as take direction.
• Bachelor’s Degree or any combination of education and experience within relevant fields is required.
• 5+ years’ experience with ERP applications for Accounting, Purchasing, Sales, Inventory, Financials, etc.
• Must be able to apply experience, logic, and imagination to make sense of situations that arise and develops solutions.
• Technical savvy with curiosity and capacity for continuous learning and have a vision for the future.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in multi-unit/legal entity and complex organizations is a plus.
